The University of Alaska Anchorage School of Allied Health offers an Occupational Endorsement Certificate for Phlebotomy. Students who complete the practicum will be qualified to sit for the national certification exams for phlebotomists.

To qualify for the program, students must have either a high school diploma or GED, at least 60 college level semester credits, or be 18 years or older and have participated in UAA’s Ability to Benefit Process.

Students must earn a minimum grade of C or higher in the follow courses: Phlebotomy Procedures, Specimen Processing, and Phlebotomy Practicum.

The program is offered on campus as well as by distance to students who reside outside of Anchorage and Eagle River.  Distance students must arrange for a mentor and clinical training facility before enrolling in courses.
